Getting Fit

Well.. it's been awhile again since I updated this page. I purchaced a tread mill and have been using it to lose a few pounds. At this point it's a up and down hill weight loss - gain. Since I use it after work, by Sunday I am so tired I sleep most of the day. I guess that's good but not sure. I'm pretty stressed out and feel better after all the rest.

I'm going to make Banana / Strawberry smoothies.. That will be my treat for working the tread mill everyday. I also am going to make my own Tomato sauce for spaghetti. If it comes out OK then I may try some ideas for a pizza sauce.

Well I'll try and update more and maybe add my weight loss..

Bad News

Well I took the car out on the street and it had an engine failure.. It's really sad.. All of the work to get destroyed in just a matter of a few seconds..

I'll get another engine it's just back on the build stage again.. I'm painting the car this week.. It should look nice..

Sorry for the delay in posts

It's more or less uphill and it takes me time to get back to this Blog.. I've always wished to post positive comments here.. Hate to share the dark side.. I've been healty at best and still going foward with my Mustang project.. I expect a new video soon so keep looking for a link ;=)

Well been steadly working on the Mustang.. Lots of improvements and some stress to go along with the work.. I just wanted to update this blog...

JUst another day.. right

Well.. since my day job isn't going as well.. I decided to help a co-worker with his projects.. He said he would pay me for the help.. So tonight I stayed to help him..

So on the way home I stopped off and got some fuel for my car... The last fitting came today.. Hoot! It was a lil tough to get the fitting out of the package so I used a razor blade ot open it.. That turned out to be a mistake cuz I now have a 3 inch slit on my left thumb.. I wrapped my thumb with a shop rag and continued to work installing the fitting.. I get the fitting on there OK..

So I add fuel to the tank for the first time and I have leaks.. I've managed to splash fuel on my new cut.. No big deal I thought.. So I go around fixing the leaks.. Well I look at the carb and there is fuel all around.. sheesh. I check the fuel pressure gauge and I have 12 psi of fuel pressure.. that's way too much. I change the adjustments some and turn on the fuel pump again.. Shoot, same thing only worse.. a quick glance at the pressure and it's at 6 psi..

So I quit for the day.. I pulled out all of the spark plugs and cranked over the engine to get the engine clear of fuel.. I went and washed my cut with dish washing soap.. that onlyt made it feel worse.. Sheshh

Well tomorrow is certainaly a new day!

Just an Update

Hey.. The car is almost ready to run.. I have almost finished everything.. Simply frustrated.. I took the driveshaft to be modified two weeks ago and I get the runaround that the guy is busy.. WTF either help me or not.. don't friggin put me off.. There is more trust me.. I'm just upset!

Finished the trans pick-up

Had to make the filter pick-up tonight.. I got the material from OSH for around $4.50.. They don't make a pick-up but the company sells the pan.. I wonder what they are thinking sometimes..

Been Better Days

Sheesh.. I went to registar my daily driver and while pulling in to a parking spot the car to my left passenger opened the door.. I stopped and when I did the car to the right started backing out.. The dumb bass hit my car.. shessh.. sorry for the rant just mad..

Sitll working

It's almost 9 Pm and I just came in from the garage. I setup my fuel pressure gauge and fixed the fuel line going to the rear of the car.. I also ran the wire for the electric fan relay.. I just got tired and quit tonight.. I had to install a transmission in a 94 mustang and do some stuff ( finish installing the engine) on another car at work ..

So I put some stuff in the wash and sat down here and started typing..

Dang the Month is almost over

Well made progress, the engine is installed so a lil more work to do.. I need to buy some final parts and I want to make sure I get everything I need at once to save on shipping..

Finally found a good front windshield (Hoot). I had it tinted.. I pulled the old window out today and scraped all of the old sealant (Fun).

There must have been a fire or something near while working on the car tonight.. The smoke in the air made it hard to breath.. I have some plans for this weekend like finishing the inside of the car.. I'll get some pic's of the progress..

My 545 BBF is ready for break-in :=) Friggin Sweet! I built a run stand to check out the engine.. I can't afford a Dyno pull so I did the next best thing.. Can't wait to hear it run..

Umm not sure what to write.. I've been on kind of a High as I'm making progress on the car.. I still need some final $$ to get to where I need to be at. First race is in April so the days like the second hand of a watch are just clicking by..

Working my tail off

Ummm.. built an engine stand to run my engine before I install it.. I'm happy with the progress so far.. I've been upbeat the last few days but worried I still won't make the first race of the season.. So I've been kind of pushing my inner self..

Here is what my stand looks like with an empty block installed on it.. It's taken 7 hours to build by myself..

Good day today

Been nice out.. Didn't have a bunch of probs at work.. Hoot! I managed to get my battery cables made up today so (1up) on getting the race car finished! Gonna finish the battery box toningt.. Umm the below pic is from the 70's.. Lol! Just shows ya how long I love fast cars.. That car won a 5th place out of 40 others at IRP Indy raceway park.. during a National event.. Umm the need for speed! ;=)

Not much of an update

Did some work on the Mustang yesterday.. Painted the engine compartment and I now have head lights & tail lights.. Hoot. I had to send my pushrods back because they were the wrong size.. my bad for that..

Look to the weekend for more progress..

Letting the day pass

Just kind of slacking off.. I ordered a new computer for my Capri and installed it. Need to check it with the scanner tomorrow.. The new computer makes the car run a lil better so I guess I see if it passes all the tests.. That's about all that's going on..

Frustration continues

Umm been a few days.. I'm in the process of building a stand to run my engine before I install it in my car.. Some set backs and frustrations at work develope delays.. I'm hoping to work tru this next segment.. of setbacks.. I ordered a water pump for my car only to have the item not available.. just more problems and things I counted on.. now I have to figure something else.. Ugly deal.. Honesty finding myself counting to ten..

Some progress

Had a friend at work help me make a panel for my fuel cell.. It came out nicely.. I painted it but because the garage is too cold I'll have to wait till tomorrow to install it.. also at lunch time today made a dip stick to read the oil level in my new engine..

Still fighting with my emotions.. hope things get better at work..

My Job is getting the best of me..

Hi,
Been having some difficulties at work.. Actually it's been going on for the last 6 months or so.. I was hired to do one type of job but when another worker quit I assumed his work as well.. I don't know what to really do.. I want to just quit myself but the better thoughts say not to.. I had tried to talk to the owner but the conversation gets changes quickly.. It's one of thoses deals ya just wish when you woke up in the morning everything would be better..

Well made some progress on the Stang today.. that's all good..

Engine almost finished

Well.. it's almost finished.. finally after three years.. I just have some minor stuff to finish up on then install the engine into the Mustang..

Exhausted

Although early in the week I'm tired tonight.. Did some work on the racecar and although the clothes dryer and my small heater kept me warm I ran out of energy.. I did make some progress.. I'm finishing the trunk area and will paint it this week..

Almost the end of January

Hey,
Spent some time on the car today.. I tore apart my new fuel cell to make changes to the fuel line fitting. I changed the size of the out line to a bigger one. I had to remove all of the foam inside the cell and then drill a bigger opening for the fuel line fitting.. The whole ordeal took a couple of hours. I also went back and hooked up the inside door latches.

A couple of days ago I picked up my rear window from a friend that does tinting.. It looks real nice.. He's doing the rear quarter windows as well.. that should help keep the inside heat down some in the summer.. The racecar doesen't have roll up/down windows nor Air=conditioning..

Progress Today

Well, made some progress.. I put together what's called a short block. That consists of the block, crank, rods & pistons. All the checks have been done.. Real hard to believe it's taken this long to get to this point of construction. I felt really rested today, so it was a good day to build the block. The assembly is time consuming because of the detail involved. It all went together perfect so I'm very happy. I'll post a few pic's this week.

It's been sad really. I remember growing up and reading about Dick Landy "Dodge." I also have met with Bennie Parsons "NASCAR fame" .. Both Hero's Dick & Bennie have passed on this week.

I dun no actually.. work is just getting too frustrating lately. Nothing seems to be going my way and the grave sort 'a speak gets deeper.. Like I said frustrating and hope the clouds go away soon.. I did manage to do some work on the Mustang engine tonight dispite the cold shop temps..

Bogged down at work lately

Lot's of stresses at work lately. I was going to work on my Capri Saturday but then decieded to to work on the racecar engine. Since it's at our shop .. the shop owner told me I need to finish working on the Capri and my engine can wait.. The Capri has a computer fault when checked with a scanner but the problem only exists when you scan the car. The problem doesent exist.. Kind of hard to explain.. Anyways the car won't smog because what the scanner sees.. but when tested at the tail pipe the smog (emmissions) are OK.. It may be a bad computer but I took a computer out of an idental car and it has the same problem.. I checked the car I took the computer from and guess what, same problem.. so is it the scanner softwear or is there a problem that causes cars like this to fault in the same way.. Dunno??

Anyways I didn't work on the engine.. but you can bet your cookies were gonna get 'er done this week cuz I'm mad.. I'm lacking head gaskets so tomorrow I'm going to purchace some.. I'm down on the $$ ladder but.. need to finish the engine..

Not too much going on today.. I ran the lawn mower in the afternoon to pick up some leaves in the backyard.. I think it was like 30 something degrees.. too funny.. Never really mowed the leaves in the winter..

Berrrr It's Cold Outside!

Umm yah! I spent some time in the garage tonight making a rubber spacer to support the fuel pump that comes up tru the trunk floor. I also worked on the Capri tail lights. They are painted to match the car color (Tan) but I wanted them black. The seperations in the fins of the lights are almost 1/2 inch. The gap made it hard to find masking tape cheap.. my life's story.

I have one tail light done but one side needed repair. I glued it so tomorrow I'll paint that one. I had to do all my lanudry tonight to heat the garage.. really.. I have a small heater but.. the dryer helps a bunch.

Well I'm sure the next few days are going to be real cold. Usually I expect a deep freeze around the last week of Jan or the first week in Feb.. It appears the cold came early this year. Along with the cold we havent had much rain. I'm betting for a real wet Feb/ March.. guess we will see..

Blahs Lately

Umm not feeling all that great lately. I think there was maybe two days that I haven't felt like I had the Flu. Went on a bindge and purchaced the fuel pump for my Mustang.. not cheap for sure. I still need fuel filters and thoses are not cheap either.. My plans are to honker down and save the rest of the cash to get this car running.. I'll have to do without and put all my efforts in one basket. I'm still working on that convertable Capri. That car is running but has some trouble with the smog controls. It will pass the test but came up with probs in the computer end of it.. No worries I'll fix it at least that only cost's time.

Just need time today to write down my plans, still pushing to have the car ready for the 2007 season.. The track hasn't posted race dates as of yet.. I still have high expectations of my Mustang.. can't wait!
